ABOUT
- Award winning photographer, Ann Brooks is located in Marin County, California. Her studio is at the Art Works Downtown art center in San Rafael. For five decades Brooks combined her love of photography with a love of travel. In 2003 she resolved to make a serious commitment to photography. Her camera has taken her to Southeast Asia, India, Europe and Mexico. By 2005 a measure of her success was the repeated licensing of an image by National Geographic.In 2006 Brooks expanded her interest to documentary photojournalism. In 2007 she was invited to participate in the annual Missouri Photo Workshop sponsored by University of Missouri’s School of Journalism.
In addition to photojournalism, Brooks is known for the photo art notecards and framed prints, available in her San Rafael studio year-round.
In December 2009, along with photography, Brooks reintroduced jewelry to her San Rafael studio.
Having learned knitting and sewing at her mother’s knee, in Spring 2016 Brooks returned to basic and nurturing roots. She is creating accessories from ethnic fabrics collected during her travels and combined with exciting contemporary fabrics. Available in her Art Works Downtown studio.
